"Attempted to use this for a lightweight wooden core door. Adjusted to maximum tension, in either of the top or middle hinge positions, it would exert barely enough force to half close the door (leaving it open by 12 to 16" or so), nowhere near enough for the striker to even make contact let alone latch.
It was also very difficult to install, because of the weird wrench required to tighten it while using something else like a screw driver to hold your place before you can turn it further. Because of the placement of our door, we had to put a piece of wood between one of the catches and this device in order to align the adjustment notches properly at all.
I'd give it no stars if possible. Bad design, extremely limited force it can exert, and for us was more time intensive to install than a replacement hinge would have been and then we just had to take it right back out."
