IMC (Intermediate Metal Conduit) is the lighter-weight rigid-type steel conduit. Made of high-performance steel, given extra strength by a special electro-weld forming process. Has lighter steel wall yet in many instances is more rigid than Rigid conduit. UL listed, recognized by the 1978 NEC for all uses, including hazardous locations. Comes in 10' lengths with threaded ends.
