"Pros:
Burns longer and hotter than all others, and is easiest to light. 5 stars for ease of use.
Cons:
Ingredients include Borax, Anthracite coal, and Soft Brown coal, IMO not things you want near your food.
Eye-stinging smoke.
Very strong mineral (not wood) coal aroma that soaks into the food.
I was generous at 3 stars, but everybody loves the ease of use. I just won't eat food cooked over anything with those ingredients.
Kingsford Competition does away with the mineral coals and is a better choice if you must stick with the brand. It still contains Borax though.
Switching to Royal Oak briquettes or lump charcoal (natural wood pieces) is better for taste and doesn't sacrifice much heat or endurance."
